Why not "Enatai"? Good question. A neighborhood in Bellevue, Washington (including Enatai Elementary School) has always had the six-letter spelling. Some point out that the French influence from nearby Beaux Arts might have created that spelling, while others claim that the spelling used on this web site would lead to "en-a-tee" pronunciation instead of "en-a-tie" (remember, Alki point in Seattle was originally pronounced "al-key", not "al-kai"). The ultimate reason the five-letter spelling was used for this domain was that it was easier to type.
